I've been making Christmas Tree Ornaments and they have been turning out just awesome. Now I only wish I had more cookie cutters to make different ones.
My daughter had to make a unique gag kinda gift for her teacher. Since she got the teachers name in secret Santa. So she saw my ornaments and asked how to make them so she could made a bunch of different shoes. I guess her teacher is really into shoes.
All I can say is wow they really turned out awesome. I told her she could make them and sell them, they were so good. I'm hoping to get a pic up later and add it to the blog here.
I'll also try to get some pics up of my ornaments I made. My 4 year old decorated some of her own also.
Now I used paints that I have for my ceramic houses. They are the acrylic paints and they work excellent. I even have a sparkle glaze which looks really cool.
Here's the recipe for the ornament dough.
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
mix together and then knead a few times until the dough is smooth. Roll out dough and use cookie cutters. Just like making Christmas cookies except their non-edable.
Use a straw to make a hanging hole at the top of each ornament.
Then bake in the oven at 325 deg. for about 1 hour. If you dough is thich bake for 1 & 1/2 hours.
Let cool then decorate.
It's just so much fun.
Have a blessed holiday season,
Kriss
